Hello, I've tried searching for this problem, but with no luck to an answer.

My problem is that I'm trying to insert a Flash swf to play on my homepage. When I insert the Flash swf file (Media > Flash), it does not play. I get a box with the bgd color. I have the FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf in the same folder as well.

I also tried inserting a flv file (Media > Flash Video) and the video plays fine, but I cannot find a way to delete the skin. How can you have a looping flash video with no skin?

I am using Version 8. Thank you!

Hello

This should be pretty straight forward.

You should be able to inset the .swf straight into a table or Div class/id.

Select the location, then Insert/Media/Flash or Ctr +alt +F

You then locate the .swf file and then asign it a tag and it should work.

The mistake was in the swf itself, so now it is working perfectly!

Hello, sorry to bother you again, but I've run into another problem with flash...

I created a looping flash movie (swf) and it plays perfectly when I preview it in Dreamweaver...BUT once I upload it to the ftp site, the swf file does NOT show. What am I doing wrong? I created a simple test page with a swf file and again, it does NOT play the swf when I upload it to the site. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've tried numerous different things and cannot seem to come up with the answer.:confused::confused:

I created a free hosting account with tripod at the moment until I can figure this thing out (sorry about the pop-ups):

The swf file should be playing to the left of the text.

You're right, I checked on my mac and it is indeed playing fine. Now I have to figure out why its not playing on my pc on firefox. Thanks for your quick reply domedia!!

Hi, I'm back! Okay, so I figured out that these swf files I'm creating are the problem. They work fine when I preview them in Dreamweaver (autoplays and loops with no problems whatsoever), but when I upload the files to the site, the swf is not showing at all; its just a blank. So I'm assuming that I'm not uploading everything I need to upload. Here's what I have:

A flash file, IntroVid.swf, with an flv as an external source:

myVideo.attachVideo(ns);
ns.play("Intro_Video.flv");

I place IntroVid.swf in index.html and upload index.html, IntroVid.swf and Intro_Video.flv to the site.

What am I missing?

The FLV file is called from whichever page the SWF file is called. So make sure the path is still right. You might have to put in the full path to the flv.

ps: remember to use the code tags when pasting code

I tried doing what you suggested, but that didn't seem to work either.:( Here's the code in Flash (hope I did the code tags right):

var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
ns.setBufferTime(2);

// Loop code goes here
ns.onStatus = function(info) {
if (info.code == "NetStream.Play.Stop") {
ns.seek(0);
}
};

myVideo.attachVideo(ns);
ns.play("http://www.stylemydvd.com/Intro_Video.flv");

IS the flv file corrupt? Try clicking below, or maybe it's your hosting doing something to it?

Anyone else have any experience with this?
