View Full Version : IE7 image issues

11-03-2007, 01:30 PM

I am currently designing a web page for a company using Dreamweaver 8 and I am having issues with images displaying in IE7.

I have also tested the page with Firefox, Opera and Safari and the images display correctly in those browsers.

The web site is designed using tables and I have a style sheet setting the font and background settings.

Does anyone know what causes this issue in IE7? I have tried modifying the code, but haven't had any luck.

What issue? You've yet to say what the problem is, just saying you have an 'issue' is not telling us what is happening ;-)

Url, code, description of the issue, anything would help.
Welcome to the DW forum btw!

None of the images are displaying in IE7, but they are in Firefox, Opera and Safari

<img name="ShopFront" src="" width="464" height="241" alt="">
The image tag does not have a src. You are not referencing any file.

Sorry, that's an image placeholder where I will be putting an image. The logo.jpg image tags are the problem.

There's nothing wrong with that area of your code. Can't you put it live on a webpage somewhere so we can actually see this happening?

I haven't got any web space for it at the moment. There must be some sort of issue with IE7 as the images display perfectly fine in the three other browsers I have tested.

I have tried searching for a fix, but haven't had any luck :(

didn't you get any web space with your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?

By chance, is the IE7 on a Vista operating system

The only thing I can think of is when you saved the image. (EX. It was meant to have a .gif extension and you gave it jpg extension.) I know when I work on my mac and I accidentally do that it will display on a mac but not on a windows pc. I would try saving the file again.

I'm having a similar problem with background images not displaying in IE7 although they display fine in any other browser.
I've used an empty div with the bg image src defined in my stylesheet.
Is there a different way of calling the image for IE7 or is it a setting in IE?
