ok, so I am trying to add a flash video using DW media Flash Video tool (insert Flash Video). I have uploaded the files and everything and when I go to the page nothing plays. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?

Here is the code for the flash player if needed:

<script type="text/javascript">
AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0','width','442','height ','431','id','FLVPlayer','src','FLVPlayer_Progress ive','flashvars','&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Halo_Skin_3&streamName=pets_graphics/videos/Misc/Bamboo_bowls&autoPlay=true&autoRewind=true','quality','high','scale','noscale ','name','FLVPlayer','salign','lt','pluginspage',' http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','movi e','FLVPlayer_Progressive' ); //end AC code
</script><noscript><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="442" height="431" id="FLVPlayer">
<param name="movie" value="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" />
<param name="salign" value="lt" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="scale" value="noscale" />
<param name="FlashVars" value="&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Halo_Skin_3&streamName=pets_graphics/videos/Misc/Bamboo_bowls&autoPlay=true&autoRewind=true" />
<embed src="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" flashvars="&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=Halo_Skin_3&streamName=pets_graphics/videos/Misc/Bamboo_bowls&autoPlay=true&autoRewind=true" quality="high" scale="noscale" width="442" height="431" name="FLVPlayer" salign="LT" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" />

I just tried it on a plain HTML page and still nothing? I have no idea what is going on. No controls or anything.

Hey jit,

It looks like two possible things are going on here.

1. If you insert a FLV file then you will also need to load the scripts with it to the server. This will activate that FLV and tell it to play.

2. If it is a SWF then just insert flash not flash video.

Hope this helps

if your using flash mx + you should have something called video encoder drop your video into that then go into flash and import video and create your ready made video player (your stop play pause settings) then publish your file and take your swf and bring that into flash not the fla file.

I have tried both ways and for some reason neither works.

First I just added a FLV file into an HTML page. The uploaded it, the Jave Script, and the .swf controls.

Then I tried bringing the FLV into Flash and publishing it as an .swf, and then I put the .swf into an HTML file and uploaded that including all dependent files.

Neither way worked? I can see the player controls and it acts like it's loading but nothing ever plays? You got me. we publish a lot of video and I would love to be able to start using Flash for this, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Any thoughts on this?

I can't understand this, thats the way that I would do it, bring the flv into flash and then publish a swf. Post a link to the flv if you want and I'll download it and have a go.
