So I have embedded a windows media player into some of my pages. I have never had any problems viewing the video on any browser........until...... Vista came out. I have figured out why Vista's IE will not play the video though, it's the new (standard) protection that comes with it. You know the firewall, spam blockers, bla bla. Once this is turned off it plays the video with no problems.

My question is, there has got to be a way around this. By default, this protection is on and most users wont turn turn it off, or know how to turn it off. Has any one run into this before? Any ideas around this?

Just another reason to hate Vista.

No, never had this issue (not put wmv's on the web.) But if you get no answert to this I recommend flash :)

That's what I am doing right now. Haven't used flash for that yet so I thought I would give it a shot.
