Having trouble with color schemes and want to purchase a pantone color swatch book or two to help with visualization. There are so many options. Can anyone give me guidance? Would like to use it both for web color and print design. Would a pack that came with both the uncoated & coated swatch books be good pick. I can get new ones for around $50.

Not a Pantone but a couple of sites that aid in color combos that work well together

http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/design/color_combinations_for_web_pages.php3

http://www.sessions.edu/career_center/design_tools/color_calculator/index.asp#

http://websitetips.com/colortools/colormatch/

they're all free

seems to be for the web only but you might find something here
http://www.visibone.com/
or actually it looks a bit dated now so maybe don't bother ;)

Eh.. don't laugh, you know what else works?
Go to Kmart and get a bunch of martha stewart swatches,
that's kind of a trade secret around here.
Oh and it's free

Thanks guys,
I'll check those links. I can see using color chips from Kmart or Home Depot working to find some ideas but then finding/matching those color number might drive me crazy.

Thanks.
