Hello All

I am struggling with Search Engine Optimisation. I managed to get my site to page 2 on google for a day and now my index page does not even register on googles top 10 pages.

Here is my meta tags:-

<meta name="description" content="Cocoonfxmedia is a website design and development agency based in Tamworth Staffordshire. Offering professional solutions in custom website design, web development, and flash applications,ecommerce websites,web hosting"/>
<meta name="keywords" content="web design company, web design agency, professional web design, development, website design, website creation, domain names, ecommerce solution, ecommerce site, website design, corporate, commercial web design, bespoke,tamworth, uk, united kingdom,CocoonQB,Cocoonfxmedia,flash applications"/>

And he is the text of my homepage:-

Welcome to Cocoonfxmedia, web design company specialising in corporate website design (http://www.cocoonfxmedia.co.uk/design.html), web hosting (http://www.cocoonfxmedia.co.uk/host.html), New Media (http://www.cocoonfxmedia.co.uk/new.html), flash development (http://www.cocoonfxmedia.co.uk/new.html) agency based in Tamworth (http://www.cocoonfxmedia.co.uk/tamworth.html), Staffordshire, UK, close to Birmingham.
What does web design and development mean?
Simply, we develop and design websites as well as developing applications and interactive presentations and cd-roms.
Whether it's a simple website, pure flash, PHP , or a interactive cd-rom presentations;
Providing a mix of skills in which we build ever more successful websites.
But that's enough marketing talk; take a look around the site. You’ll soon get a feel for what we’re really about.

I am really stuck on how to hit the top page everytime can anyone suggest what i am doing wrong or suggest away of improving my SEO?

Forget onsite optimization for now and focus on how you can get linked from various sites.
Write some web design articles and see if someone will publish them. Spread the word about your work, maybe someone feels it's so awesome they'll link to you.

Ed is correct! Also, you are using terms that every site out there uses, and has more of them on their site. Every Web design has the keywords "Webdesign, hossting, flash, . . . " those are such general keywords that they wont do you much good. When someone searches for web design, they don't search for just webdesign, they search for things like affordable webdesign, or affordable web sites (notice I spelled web design 2 ways - so do people searching) or ecommerce hosting, cheap and affordable hosting, cheap web sites, and so on.

SEO is not easy. There are companies that do only SEO. It's and art, and even when you do get to the top, you have to work hard to stay there.

Do you have a robot.txt file for your site? Here is a link to a post not to long ago about SEO. I attached an article in this post that I found on SEO. Might help you out. http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26260&highlight=Robot+file

Your onsite tags is not going to increase your SERP placement. Modern search engines simply ignore the meta keywords tag, and the description tag might be used for information about your site, but have no influence over ranking.
