anyone know where to find up-to-date (ie 2007) screen resolution statistics?

Remember that w3school's data is probably not representative for your target audience Chris. Since it's mostly web design traffic, those numbers might not even give a general idea of what your specific target audience is like.

If you want this for a new client, see if you can get a hold of their current web statistics. Screen resolutions are normally harder to get by because they are not sent in the HTTP requests (someone arrest me here if my choice of words are wrong, not entirely my area of expertise), so you have to rely on javascript to gather screen resolution info, since the server log files will not have this.

Another way could be to find statistics for a website you know is in the same industry, key is to find data for the same user audience.

I've got a couple of web log analysis applications for this site, so I don't think that is needed. Polls are not a very reliable method either way (compared to server logs)
