View Full Version : sizing a text field in a form

I have a table within a form and there are cells that I place text fields for user input. The problem I'm running into is the even though I set char width and max width to one, when I test it the size of the text field is about 3 even though it will only allow input of one char. This causes the table width to widen and I don't want that. I'm missing something, how do I get the size to remain at one?

Limiting the amount of characters in the input field does not change the size of the input field. Add a CSS style to the field now make it smaller.

Thanks for your reply. I thought that was what I needed, but how do I do that? I don't have much experience with css. A little guidance would be appreciated.

I think I figured it out. I played around with the box settings and that seems to have done the trick. If anyone is thinking "oh oh he shouldn't do it that way" let me know.
