I use tables to display information on my site so you can tell the difference between that area and my background. I need to have two tables next to eachother with a couple inches in between each. Dreamweaver simply wont let me do it. I have tried and tried again. Any suggestions?

do i add tables into the div tag, or are there actual div tables?

You could insert two layers, then cut and paste your tables into the layers. You can now move the layers around the page to anywhere you want them.

"thanks a lot, that's exactly what i needed "
it probably is just what you *don't* need ;) why stick with the tables? using absolute positioning can be pretty tricky to work across browsers and at different resolutions and treating your web layout as a layout application could result in some nasty surprises!

i appreciate the quick responses but i am new to this and am wondering how i would make div tables and arrange them next to each other with space in between. Thanks a bunch. :)

divs are not tables. Lets say you cave a container division of 600 px. Inside that you have division a 200px and div b also 200px you can specify div b to have a left margin of 10px.
this is a vague example but with divs you will find you have a lot of control in the appearancof your web pages

What about a table with three columns and leave the middle one blank? Would that work? If you set the widths?
