View Full Version : How to make a vertical line ?

Hi. I can't remember how to make a vertical line. I found some notes that I made, but can't follow them. I want a vertical line (like a horizontal rule ..... only vertical) I made notes to select "manage styles" in the style box - but there isn't a "manage styles" there. Then my notes go "advanced / this document only", then select .borderright or . borderleft

Does anyone know how to do it, if I can't find "manage styles" ???

I don't know what "manage styles" is referring to, but your instructions basically just say to pick an element on the page that you wish to have a vertical line next to and then give it either a left or right border depending on which side of the element you want the vertical line to appear on.

I hope this has what you're looking for:

This is the CSS Styles panel. (http://www.solsector.com/cary/style.png)

This is the CSS Rule Definition dialog box for borders. (http://www.solsector.com/cary/border.png)

That's funny 8) Did you even look at the links Cary gave you?

Yeah ....... but I'm not using CSS. I've attached a screen shot (or at least I think I have) showing the black line where I want the vertical line. It's very frustrating being thick and working alone.

Your screen shot didnt come through

You can do this with a table cell styled with CSS or by adding a div tag
or by adding an image.

What bit can't you do?
