View Full Version : How do I Setup my Local Network Testing Server to view .asp pages

07-23-2007, 01:35 AM
I've been working with Dreamweaver for about 6 years, but have only created html pages. I am now building my own online store with a database, and am going to use asp pages.
I would like to be able to view the asp pages without having to load the page first to my hosting service.
I have Windows XP Pro had have installed the Network Server files.
I have tried putting my files in the Inetpub wwwroot folder, but still no luck.
Can you help me? Thanks much...Rita

you need IIS service turned on.
you then need to make the project folder an application (the folder that the bin folder sits in) within IIS -
also is your project .net 1.1 or .net 2

or if your not using IIS what type of service are you running - wamp?

I am using IIS.
I'm not sure how to make the project folder an application.
For example...my website folder is named DiggingAround
My testing server folder is -- C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DiggingAround\

open iis.
browse to the folder under my default websites (i think it is)
right click on the root project folder > properties.
Then click Create Application.
