View Full Version : missing flash button

07-17-2007, 07:17 PM

Ive just uploaded a website

and i find my flash bits all missing. Its nothing fancy just buttons, etc

There are all uploaded in the same locations as they were on my harddisk but im having no luck in solving this silly puzzle.

On the home page there should be a roll over image on the left, a gif image on the right and in the centre an enter button.

I thought it might be in the wrong file but would it not just show a blank box if that were the case, the page shoes nothing.

Can someone advise me please....

Page code below:

make sure 'enter-button.swf' is in the same directory, and that Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js exists on the server as well.

They are both uploaded onto the server in the same location and directory, as designed.
Do they both need to be in the same directory as the html page? as Dreamweaver created a directory for the script.

Right the plot thickens...

I have been checking the problem with my swf enter button created by dreamweaver. I have run to validate the page and it now comes up with:

index.htm - line 57 - The tag name: "embed" Not found in currently active versions.[HTML 4.0]

Line 57 is -

<embed src="enter_button.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100" height="22"></embed>

As I have never had a problem with creating buttons, etc in dreamweaver before, this has stopped me? Help please.....

the embed tag is not valid but is not stopping your flash from showing.

If you want your page to validate, search for 'flash satay' on alistapart.com
