i am trying to copy a code that already is working, and adapt it to a new site.
what i have that is actually working rigth now is this:
and its code is <form action="http://minervawebdesign.com/contact/contact.pl" method="post">

then i have:
and its code is
<input type="hidden" value="Email from site form" name="subject">
<input type="hidden" value="form@minervawebdesign.com" name="recipient">

the rest of the form with namefield, email, submit and reset is done and working.

Because as you can see I DONT KNOW HTML CODING, i'm copying the code my server did for me for my first site, and now i have to adapt it to my second site and its when i'm having difficulties for my form to work.

I know i have to change the site.com name to the one i need it for. I have done exactly the same, pasting it in the same place the one working is pasted, i just changed the path information and when i see it on my browser is appears and is not hidden as it should.

Any advise from the above me level members? . . . making mistakes, trying to solve them, reading here and there , i guess will take me to higher levels

<form action="http://minervawebdesign.com/contact/contact.pl" method="post">This means that the form will be processed by this file. Does this file exist?

http://minervawebdesign.com/contact/contacme.html does that make a difference ?

Your form is trying to run this script:

If this PERL script does not exist, the form will not work.

may i ask you, what is the perl script? how do i make it exist? or the server does that for me? thanks again

you need to do a course or get a book on the basics. You would get so much more than your getting here. Your mind must be going through melt down with all the info you need to absorb

.pl file is a perl script which processes your request on the server like sending mail

A quick way to learn about (and use forms) is to look at the DW Forums for the tut on using PHP and forms. Link http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/dreamweaver-php-form.php

i kind of know how to put it up ( i say kind because i have done a few and they look fine, just like the one on the tutorial you mentioned) . . . . . what i dont know is to apply the hidden fileds to make it work . . .. this is exactly where i'm struggling

Go through the tutorial, and you'll be fine. It does everything.
