I am making a site where the visitor votes for the number 1 country from a drop-down box of a list of every country (about 180 currently), and the vote is stored in a database. Then, the site displays the 5 leading countries judging by how many votes are in the databse.

A: I dont have hosting yet so can I set up a DB on an old PC with apache or something?

B: Anyone done anything with voting and have an idea how I should approach this?

C: Anyone know how to do a drop-down box in Dreamweaver 8 or raw HTML?

Thanks everyone

Hi Agent,
I'm sure others will reply, but here's my recommendations:

1. Look at our video tutorials by dj on how to set up a server on your local pc.
2. Liek most things, start to learn the language and technology. I would suggest PHP, which would increase the chance of help and discussions on this forum. Our video tutorials will get you started there as well.
3. A dropdown that you want is a form element. Look for form elements in DW, it's not hard :) http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0160
