View Full Version : Links open in same window, but URL never changes

Someone created a blog that when you click on a link in it, you see the linked page, but the URL is her blog address.

People never veer from the originating URL. So this is not a Dreamweaver question per se, but one of HTML programming. I cannot find this info anywhere, but keep searching online.

Any tips greatly appreciated!

Example, I'm at www.howareyou.com (http://www.howareyou.com), I click on a link inside that blog/site that takes me to www.nytimes.com/whatev.htm (http://www.nytimes.com/whatev.htm), but the url still indicates www.howareyou.com (http://www.howareyou.com).

It looks like I'm at nytimes.com, but if I bookmark it or want to send the link to someone, the url is www.howareyou.com (http://www.howareyou.com).

Someone suggested using iframes. Never heard of that, but googled and think this is what the code would be:

<iframe src="http://www.nytimes.com/whatev.html">whatev</iframe>.

Will try it, but if it doesn't work, still open to suggestions. Thanks!

Yes, that's achieved by using frames, not iframes.
