Hello,

i have decided that i want to start making websites for local shops in my area.

i have never done this before or even thought about doing it,

so i am here to ask you for some advice.

advice on such things as:

How to contact them, as i will only have one website to show them.

Prices.

If they want to change the website in some way, (as in the content) do i charge them for this?

Do they pay for webspace and a URL or do i?

just basic sort of questions so that i know how to go about doing it.

Cheers for your advice,

Ali.

oK. Have they decided they want one?
how to contact them, as i will only have one website to show them.

First whats in it for them?

Can they sell stuff online through their site?
Do you have the skills to build a robust secure ecomm site
Do they need a site?Prices.

This depends on what you have agreed to do. You wont get any take up if you have nothing to show them!

This would be part of the maint contract which is an annual or monthly payment

Do they pay for webspace and a URL or do i?

You incorp this in your costs and fees

personaly if i thought there was some money to be made i would buld it first and then approach one of the smaller estableshments and offer a dicounted 1st year (or even free for a 6 month trial) then see if they get any revenue generation
