View Full Version : allow users to up/download files

I am looking for some advice on what the best/most efficient way to allow people to view/listen and up/download files on my website.
I have DW 2004 and testing CF MX 7. I'm thinking that building a web app is the way to go and simplify management of the files, but I am worried about the fact that the DB will only send/return data to CF. Can I then use that data in DW to find the correlating file name and download it? And tweak that to allow uploading too?
Any help or suggestions are welcome.

you need a basic primer of a scripting language

if its not to late would you consider PHP?

When you say "primer" what exactly do you mean?
PHP is something I am interested in and wonder if you have any suggestions on a particular book or author.
Are you saying I must write that feature from scratch? Or find a mod and tweak it? Is there anything on the Exchange I could look for to get me started?
I am also looking into different CMSs and would really appreciate
any guidance in that area as well.
Thanks for taking time to help..
