View Full Version : Hit Counter & Search

I used 'halo_left_nav' as a template for my web site home page http://www.pjdenterprises.com/index.html. On the left side of the top navigation bar there is a 'search' box. Any Ideas as to what it's for and how to make it functional?

Also, there is a non-functional hit counter at the bottom left of my home page. Any way to either make it work or get rid of it?

Thanks for your help.

the search form has no action so it will do nothing. I didnt see the hit counter but if you open code ansd design in DW and select/ hilite the items you wil see the code. I would suggest deleting both. post the code you ind if you are unsure before deleting.

ie this is the code for search on your page

<form id="search" action="">
<input name="searchFor" type="text" size="10" />
<a href="">search</a>

You can see the hit counter on my web site http://www.pjdenterprises.com in IE7, but not in Firefox. I can't delete it, since I can't find the code. Not in index.html or any .css I can find.

if you open the page in design and code view selecting the item in design wih hi lite the code. I still cant see it but there is an odd script on the bottom of the page

var menuitem1 = new menu(7,1,"hidden");
var menuitem2 = new menu(7,2,"hidden");
var menuitem3 = new menu(7,3,"hidden");
var menuitem4 = new menu(7,4,"hidden");
var menuitem5 = new menu(7,5,"hidden");
var menuitem6 = new menu(7,6,"hidden");
var menuitem7 = new menu(7,7,"hidden");
// -->
I have no idea what this is . Anybody?

I found the hit counter image code and deleted it. I don't know what all those 'hidden' items are, either. Thanks for your help.
