First off, thank you for all the brilliant help, I'm starting to understand css design.

I’m not, however, able to figure out how to place my copyright text outside of my #wrapper. I’ve created a ID selector for my copyright info and placed it what I think is outside of the wrapper div but apparently I am wrong.

The page can be seen here http://cellocelli.com/basiclayout1.htm

#copyright {font-size: 75%;
text-align:center;
color:#000;
border:none;
background-color:none;
}
<div id="footer">
<p><a href="http://www.google.com/">STORE </a>|<a href="#"> SCHOOL </a>|<a href="#"> SERVICES </a>|<a href="#"> BOOKINGS </a>|<a href="#"> ARTISTS </a>|<a href="mailto:dsnyder@cellocelli.com"> CONTACT </a></p>
<!-- End footer (ds) -->
</div>
</div>

<div id="copyright">
<p><span class="colorcopy">&copy;</span> Cello Celli Music 1031 Allston Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44121, 216.382.8640</p>
<!-- End copyright (ds) -->
</div>
</body>
</html>

This is all new to me so I could be missing something simple. Any ideas?
Thanks………….

Happens all the time to me as well. I use a html validator tool in firefox when previewing pages, it will tell me quickly if something is wrong with the page I'm looking at, so I'm able to find out quickly.

Thanks. And thank for the link to the validator tool. I was just reading about those. i'm checking the link that you listed. A book that i picked upyesterday to help clue me in (css: th emissing manual) it mentioned http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/

Do you have any experience with this one?

Yes, it's a wonderful extension. There's only one I would rate higher, and that is the Firebug addon. It's amazing how many valuable things that is stuffed in it:
