In a css sheet, if the active and visited class elements are exactly the same as the link class elements - is there any point in putting them in your css?

Hope my terminolgy is correct!:???:

If you don't want the default colors, like purple for visited links, you should specify your custom color.

it depends on how to structure your base elements in css.
i remember discussing this with Dom a while back.

In ur css if u have

a {
color: #fff;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover {
color: #000;
text-decoration: underline;
}

this covers all types of links, visited, selected etc - as they are child branches of a (and u will never see defaulted link colors)

having a:link is redundant in my opinion, any a element already is a link.

Must admit, I did wonder about the usefulness of a:link when a is already a link.

Thanks both for your comments.
