hi all,

can someone tell me the standard size for banners/logos? I don't want to make the banner/logo too small as resizing it will distort the picture. I also don't want to make it too big as it will be really slow to load. So if there's a optimized standard size then it'll be great.

thanks

This is all just down to your design and personal preference. Just check out some other sites that you like and see what they have done and use these ideas to help you generate your design.

Dont copy just take things on board and then come up with something yourself.

This isn't a dreamweaver related issue though mate this is just layout and design.

Right, I know what you're saying but I saw so many different sites with so many different size banners. Some are about half the screen of my widescreen monitor but centered of cource. Then some like this forum here almost take up my whole screen. So I don't really know which one people work with the most. Sorry if my question seem stupid but I'm new to website building and I need a lot of help.

You can check at:
http://www.iab.net/standards/adunits.asp
They list the standard sizes which advertisers are "supposed" to follow, however there is no enforcement of them.
