Hello!

Another new member!

I have a web site on which I have 16 sound files ( and several video clips) for people to listen to as a form of instructon and to demonstrate products. The site I have now was done in MS Publisher. I am currently building a new site in Dreamweaver.

On the old site the user clicks on an image and a separate media player application must open for them to download and listen to the sound file they selected.

In Dreamweaver, I would like for the user to be able to click on the image and have the sound file play on that same page, thus eliminating the extra steps of going back and forth between the web page and the media player.

I have the player console on the page but I can not figure out how to allow the users to click on the images and have that particular sound file play in the console???

I eventually wnat to be able to have the same happen with the video clips....but first things first....how can I solve my audio problem.

Thanks in advance for reading and helping.

Jim J

i would try a specialist tool to do the job. You will get a more professional feel to your demo's

I have seen a site that can do what you want:
But these guys of this forum don't like me to post it, they rather reomove it.

Even though I thought this forum was for helping out coders in need, it seems that the egos are too big around here to want to help you with anything.

Have a nice fun time working here!

Cheers

Jim

you could use flash to stream the sound to each product page

Forgive me davidj - but I have not coded a video or sound file for my websites.
I thought it would be better that he talks to someone who does those sort of things. We have those here West. If you've never done video/audio, then read the thread instead of pasting links :)

Hello!

The sound files I post on my site are examples of calling sounds. I make and sell waterfowl calls. Therefore, I want the people to be able to click a link (image) and have a popup player appear on the same page....rather than having them to wait while the file downloads and the Windows Media player opens up. With the Media player route they then have to go back to the page to click another file. It takes too much time and people don't like all the jacking around having to go between applications.

Hope that helps.

You posted a link to a itunes mp3 clone site! How the hell is that going to help Jim with his question

Even though I thought this forum was for helping out coders in need

it is but you have to be damn sure the advice you give is considered correct or someone is going to tell you that your wrong or that your an idiot

it seems that the egos are too big around here to want to help you with anything.

Err no there not. We just help people in our own time for no reward other than a thankyou once or twice.

Have a nice fun time working here!

I will Thanks
