View Full Version : how can I stop my email link on site attracting spam.

Hope you can help. I have a modest website which is attracting lots of spam , probably through the email link . even though it is in java code. is there a good way to stop it.

if your using a mailto: link then this i a magnet to bots

you could try some simple measures like replacing the @ with @ in your code view

you could use PHP to encode the email address

Set up a contact form and you won't reveal your email address to harvesting bots at all.

php is a scripting language that allows data to be passed and saved into a database

Dear Domedia.
thanks very much for everyones help. I like the idea of an email contact form. as I have already coded the email in java, but the spammers still find it. Can you point me in the right direction so I can do it.
