Has anyone ever used Dreamweaver to show a urdu font from Pakistan? I can see the text ok on my word documents, but when i copy and paste to dreamweaver, it doesnt look anything like it. I have the coding set to Unicode UTF-8 but still no luck. I have used this coding with many other languages that i have needed, chinese, japanese, arabic etc, but cant seem to get urdu to work.

my webpage is www.stellamaris.org.au/pages/asie_pakistan.html (http://www.stellamaris.org.au/pages/asie_pakistan.html)

any suggestions would be most grateful.

Once installed you will be able to see the urdu script on that particular webpage (even if you can not read it)

try to copy the urdu font from the download webpage and paste it to your dreamweaver and you will see what happens

have you installed that font into your fonts directory within Windows?

You do relise that users who dont have this font on their machine wont see it!

yes the font is installed on my computer as i can read the translation written in urdu that my friend sent to me.

I alo understand that to read that font you will need it installed on your computer too. This will not be a problem for our club, but still doesnt explain why i cant see it in my dreamweaver.

Any ideas?

you have to add a font profile

on the properties panel use the font dropdown and there you will see an Edit Font List click that and add your font to that.

remember to include a second and third font in the list as these will be used if the font in question is unavailable
