Hi everyone,

I am new to dreamweaver, and so with .net or .aspx. This is my first time to write a project.

I have finished defining the site, and so with database connection (using 127.0.0.1). My database is .mdb. I've tested the connection and it's OK. I've tested also the URL of the site and ite's OK. Now I have created a page with a simple Dataset (no filters, no parameters). I just select all. On page is a table with field taken from my dataset. As I tried to preview it, there appear a "Server Error"; in line 2, and also a dialogue box saying something like 'you system security setting is preventing ActiveX control from running'.

I don't know what is this. Please help.

Thanks,
rey

first stop using mdb. it sucks. Go and watch the VTM dj made and move to php. Also give your server a ip address. do not use 127.0.0.1. what does your connection string look like? Go to this website. Step by step lessons on what to do. http://www.dmxfire.com there your learn what to do wth the aso access stuff. I worked with asp for years and access databases suck all the way around. Move to MySQL you won't be sorry.

I would assume you are on a windows server using crappy IIS services. You need to give the wwwroot permission for everyone to view. To make this happen follow these steps.

First remover simple sharing. (it Sucks too)

Navigate to wwwroot in the inetpub directory on your C: Drive.

share that with a everyone permission. Then go to security and give tthat folder also everyone permission.

That should solve the access problem.

Hope this helps,
Neon
