I have a logo that i need to insert in a dreamweaver webpage. However, the logo has a lot of free space both above and below the actual design. this makes the logo to a full page picture. What can I do to remove the free space and only use the part of the logo that i want.

Hello 'death' and welcome to the forums.
Take the loog back into the software you used to make it and remove the area of the logo you don't want. If you bought it, send a request back to see if they can fix it for you.

if you mean the edimension logo then just open it in PS, crop it more and then save as a gif, again

thedeath,

if you post ur logo up here, ill have a go at making it a transparent gif for you (or im sure someone else will too)
pretty easy once u have followed a few photoshop tutorials.

if you dont have a image editing program and are too pov to buy one (or dont kno anyone cool enuf to give u a cracked version) download the gimp off download.com. Its a freeware image gui program
