When I try to use the stock Dreamweaver 8 "Chrome Bar" flash button as a link the any ".html" page in my site's folder, Dreamweaver says "'/*page*.html' is a site-relative link. Please use either an absolute or document-relative link." Surely there is a way to use flash buttons as navigation links??

Hi agent, did you try using absolute or document relative links?

What exactly are those? Can I make a document-relative link or absolute link with the other .html files in my site folder? If so, how do I do that?

-An absolute link references the full url: http://www.domain.com/file.html
-A document relative link specifies the link location relative from the link you're currently on: ../file.html

What you have is a site root relative link, it starts with a slash. You can do this, as long as you are aware that DW on your local system will use the 'Local Root Folder' you've specified to resolve the links.

If you have root relative links going on automatically (sounds like you are), you can change this in your Site Definition .
