View Full Version : Adding a paragraph header to my column/body

Okay, so I've been playing around and have a nice little mock site with text from Lorem ipsum. I decided that I wanted to make the first word in the main body paragraph be bigger, bolder and so on. I tried making a new class like:

but when I put it in the html body I think it conflicted with the other CSS - which is:

[code]#content{
color:#000;
border:0px solid #FF6600;
}
#content p{
font:80% Tahoma;
padding:0px 15px 5px 15px;
margin-left:100px;
margin-right:140px;
}

because it either did nothing at all or after the </div> dropped everything down to the next line - which I don't want.

So I started to think like how the links are set up and tried this:

#content p firstword{
font:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color:#FFFFFF;
font-size:16px;
font-weight:bold;

and that sorta worked. It didn't in FF but not in IE....what's new about that:)
Any suggestions on what I am trying to do? - Did I confuse you?:confused:

If you want the full code let me know.

#content p.firstword <- you need a dot in there.

If that does not work, post your url so we can look at it all :)
