Hi everyone,

Im currently studying Graphic Design at University in Kent (in the UK- As some of you may know) as part of our current project we are required to put together a study into Professional Practice, looking at the methods that design companies and design professionals carry out with their work.

Im hoping that some people on here maybe to help me out with my research by answering the following questions...

Do you have a standard list of questions to send to a prospective client?

After receiving the design brief from the client, do you put together a proposal document?

If yes, how do you go about this, and what sort of information does it contain?

Do you usually put together a creative pitch to the client?

If yes, how do you prepare and plan it?

What steps do you take after the creative pitch to follow throught the idea/concept?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

as an applications developer (online) i use a number of spec documents

we use a

concept document
This is a draft from meeting 1 with its objectives. Its a two way document (client <> developer)

design spec
how its going to work
screen prints and flow charts (login --> page1, page2, page3)

Tech spec
how it works (php, asp etc)
database table/ field names. What each is for
form fields names and their relation to the db

this allows for developers to pick up work or troubleshoot problems without initially knowing that much about the app. It keeps everything tansparent and easy
