Please can someone help me?

Ok let me start....

I work for this company http://www.madisonbellmedia.com/ (I know the website is rubbish) and they have just bought out this company http://www.transcript.co.uk/ .

What I need to do is put a holding page up for both sites saying this..

http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/1087/splashaf4.jpg

the problem is both sites have an index page so I can't create an index page of this image with the two links and put it in both directories as it will confuse the browser. And I cannot simply rename the original two index pages as it will mess with links within the two sites (ie all the home links on the other pages)

Is there a way I can do this, so if some visits either site you are lookin at the splash page then you can enter in to either site.

Help!!!!!

 ..... ..... :?

Contact the hosting company for both websites, and get from them the rank of default pages.

On one of my server, for example, index.php is usually the default page for the home directory. If I insert a home.html, it will be prioritized and shown instead.

So yes, you can have several index pages on your web root, just make sure you know which they are.

How getting the rank of the page would it help? if I had to index.html pages how could I rank it?

what Dom means is what home page will take priority

index.php, index.htm, home.htm, default.html

which one is selected by your host server when your URL is called
