How would I design a website against a background? I do not know if I should use tables or layers. Here is an example http://www.sage-hearts.com/ I want to place content agains a colored background.

Thanks

Background-colors are simply background-color: color; or you can view source on the website to see how they did it.

If you take a look at www.sage-hearts.com you will notice the background is red but the inner rectangular page content seems to be on a separate layer. Can anyone tell me a simple way to do the same thing?

Thanks

Using tables... you can also do the same with layers and css.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>colours</title>
</head>

<body bgcolor="#FF3333">
<table width="70%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#FC9AB8">
<tr>
<td>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p>

</p></td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>

copy code into a new html document in dw replacing all default code dw creates.
