On a number of sites, I have seen text that appear to fade in or go from very small text to large text on the header banner section of the page. Is this done within Dreamweaver, a php script or do I need to buy a flash utility?

Example: http://www.friendshipwest.org/

Thanks

It's Flash. It's pretty fast to figure out if you view source, or right click on the movie :)

I am new to flash other than simple flash text and images within DW MX. I want to improve my non-profit website (for my church). I want to add scrolling text, rotating images, and maybe an opening movie.

Adobe's Flash 8 cost over $600 and I am on a budget but would appreciate if you will recommend a good flash application for a beginner.

Domedia - Thanks.

Swish is definately an alternative if that's what you want to do. It still will have a learning curve, but they've got some tuturials and a trial download so you can check it out.

why not download the free fully functional 30 day trial of flash, you can get it here:-

There are thousands of flash tutorials on the web, I think CBT Cafe show you how to do scrolling text etc.

For simple text animations though you may be better looking esle where there are loads of utilities on the web that do this sort of thing.

Flash is an excellent program but it does have a learning curve.

why not download the free fully functional 30 day trial of flash Because it still costs a load of cash after the 30 day trial ;)
