The page properties in dreamweaver seem to be overrideing my Css , the #logo h1 is only showing in the default font .any help .

"#logo h1" text is showing in font-family Roman Times-etc-etc , (which is the default font on page properties ) not in font family Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif, as set in #logo h1 style.

does your page shows or have any Embedded styles? as in that case they will have priority over external stylesheets.

I seem to have fixed it by changing "font " to font-family in #logo h1. any one tell me why?

font is a css shorthand property, the correct way to only specify font face is to use 'font-family'
