Am I being stupid or can you put a div inside a table or not. I just cant get it to work.

I've designed my layout around a table inside a div but some of the more advanced tools (image gallery magic and so on) require more divs which is causing problems.

Any help would be great

the div tag needs to be inside table td's for the structure to be right.
example:
<td>
<div>Content here</div>
</td>

It is easy to keep adding another <div> with a CSS class or ID for some particular need, but the problem becomes too much complexity to keep the structure correct and understood by the developer.

Why are you using a table, when many developers are now using CSS for positioning as well as appearance?

because like I said I'm new to web developing so am doing this one step at a time. Are there any good CSS resources for when I get around to moving on and improving my skills??
