im not a real noob but im just getting into desiging web sites that my wife does the graphics for. we have done our personl site, my wifes personal site and another one for a local architect. each one has progressively gotten more indepth. The architects website is the one that i have the question on. I created a pop-up, flyout using layers. the web site is www.ricearchitect.com . the problem i have is that i had the background image centered and the layers were right on with the flyout on the portfolio option when the browser window was not full screen. but when i went to full screen the b/g image would center but not the flyout. it seams like its locked from the top and left position. My temporary way around this is by having the b/g image justify top & left. obviously this looks like crap. Im using dreamweaver 8. can anyone tell how i can set the b/g image to be centered and the layers with the flyout to float, i guess would be the right word, and stay in proportion?

the backgroud when centered the hotspots work great but the layers that i have for the flyout are at position as follows :

L-391px
T-324px
W-156px
H-32px

so what happens is when the browser window is viewed in full screen ( maximized ) the b/g image and all hot spots recenter to the window. this is what i want to happen. but the layers for the flyouts remain locked at the left and top positions. and then in full screen they end up in the wrong position. i want them to adjust also.

thanks in advance for the help.

What browsers are you using for testing?

Do you get different results in Firefox or Netscape or Safari, compared with MSIE6?

yes i am testing in both FF and IE. those are the only two bowsers that i have and are generally the most common. I personally only use FF but just figured i would test it in IE

Hi there,

I am starting my first site with dreamweaver - have just barely created the first page - but the problem is why does the work on dreamweaver not match up to the presentation once you press F12? - as in it is showing the title heading on the page as way too much to the right - when on the dreamweaver face - it simply shows it centred - how can you correct this?

thanking you in advance!
Collins

ok in trying to get this back on point i made the home page of that site so that you could see what is happeneing with the layers for the flyout. When the browesr window is maxamized the b/g image centers and the flyout does not. The flyout menu should remain under the "Portfolio" option regardless of the way the browser window is. hope this helps in aiding to finding a solution for me.
