View Full Version : Why does it insist I save as a template?

Noob alert! :?

I am encountering a problem whenever I try and save a new page created from a template.

I open the template and save the new page as an html file. After working on the page a while (adding content, etc.) I try to use File/Save to save my progress but a box appears headed 'Save As Template' with a path to my templates folder.

I end up having to use Save As.. to again save the file as an html document which, of course, overwrites the file I originally saved from the template.

Is this normal? It seems that Dreamweaver doesn't recognise that I'm not working on the template any more.

If I remember right you do 'create new page from template', you don't open the template itself. F1 and read the tutorial on how to work with templates to be sure.

Thanks, domedia. Guess I need to RTFM a bit more.
