hello,

our current website was structured using a few divs on top of white space and where there are more than (6) images, we are having a lag time in loading the images. we would like to add a simple pre-loader using javascript if possible.

could someone assist us in our efforts.
refer to weblink below and specifically Visiting Artists House (9) images.

thanks

as far as i could see you're already preloading the images:
if (document.images) {
nav_bar_02_over = newImage("images/nav_bar_02-over.gif");
nav_bar_03_over = newImage("images/nav_bar_03-over.gif");
nav_bar_04_over = newImage("images/nav_bar_04-over.gif");
nav_bar_05_over = newImage("images/nav_bar_05-over.gif");
nav_bar_06_over = newImage("images/nav_bar_06-over.gif");
preloadFlag = true;
}

thanks for your reply, yes they are preloaded; however, we have done everything to reduce the loading time. (optimized the images to @ 40k each) Are there any alternatives to speeding up the loading time. the projects with 9 images take up to 10 secs to load the first image.

thanks

Your only alternatives is to optimize the images further, or reduce the amount of images.
