How do I indent the second line of text without indenting the first line of text with it??

There is not automatic way in CSS to indent a specific line (aprt form the first one) afaik.

So the first line will not indent you will have to hit enter at the end of a line to give you a

paragraph tage, rather than shift reurn whcih gives you a
break tag.

If you do not want the extra space,you will have to fake an indent by using a couple of non-breaking spaces (SHift Ctrl Space)

or make a new paragraph for the second line and style your css to make it look like a second line by adjusting the padding and margins top and bottom so it sits in the right place, and - of course - giving it some extra padding on the left.

what exactly are you trying to achieve anyway? why indent the *second* line?

Quick example based on gondomans and daves advice:

CSS:p.regular {margin: 0;}
p.indented {margin: 0 0 0 20px;}

HTML:<p class="regular">Paragraph of text</p>
<p class="indented">Paragraph of text</p>
<p class="regular">Paragraph of text</p>
