I am seeing substantial differences in text size displayed by different browsers, particularly IE6 & Firefox 1.5.

This is particularly noticeable on site menu (see www.cv-expert.co.uk) - this is still 'in progress' and is my first attempt!

Font size looks reasonable on Firefox but much smaller on IE6. I suspect that this is do to an error on my part as I do not remember this occuring earlier.

I have tried defining font size in pixels, %, ems & so on.

Is there a recommended/advised definition to use?

Many thanks

percentages and ems are usually best. have you checked your default font settings in explorer and firefox? is IE set to medium? is firefox? (ctrl + 0 resets the font size)

Dave has it right, check out how the browsers are set. You should also check out Netscape. Mac browsers will produce different sizes from Windows. Sometimes screen captures can be useful in determining exact sizes, especially when measured in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

I did look at your home page styles, and this one is incorrect:
.style10 {font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif, Calibri}

The browser will always pick "sans-serif" and cannot pick "Calibri" when it is mentioned after "sans-serif." Good for you for picking Verdana, which is more legible on screen than the others.

Your "Contact Us" page has different colors and moves a bit when changing from any of the other pages.
