IE now disables active x content until user clicks it. Flash has this workaround, but does this affect anything else we do?

It would effect any embedded objects afaik.
My workaround in flash has been to have javascript write all the needed code.
I tried this and it works great:

There's still plenty of rather big websites out there that has not updated their websites, and users with updated windows versions will have to click to activate flash.
