I've just used the "Rigid" method for centering the stuff on a webpage for different resolutions. Can someone please check @ 800x600 to see if it works right? It'd really help me out as I have to have this site completed in short order.

Hi Scifin
When I viewed it in 800x600 I got a horizontal scroll bar. Does that help???

Do you think you got the scroll bar because the graphics were too big? I know that I made the header 800p wide. Maybe I should make everything smaller by 50p or so?

I'm trying to recreate a what was a preformatted blog from Blogger.com I tried to just use the html from te blog but it doesn't really work right when I do that.

This is the link to the Blogger version: http://giuntaweddinghome.blogspot.com/ so you can see what I'm going for. I made my own version so I could change the dimensions and have some more freedom to do what I want to it.

remember when designing to 800 x 600 you should always take into account the browser chrome and any scroll bars that may be visible (even the O/S toolbar will have an impact on your dimensions). This will reduce your development area.

are there specific dimensions to use based on the screen resolution you are designing for? My preference is to design based on 1024x768 but I know that is bigger than what some people who are going to be visiting the site use so I'm trying to go for 800x600.

My golden rule is nothing wider on the page than 760px. That should be enough for all kinds of chrome/scrollbars etc.

Right on; I'll rework stuff keeping that in mind. Or I'll just tell anyone still at 800x600 to move into the current millenium.
