Hi all,

Have been told to get my site to comply with web standards, have checked on W3 Validator...

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=www.gregfindley.com

I have 18 errors, was going to try and fix myself but then thought of the problems I could create - as I know very little coding!

Your help as ever is much appreciated!
Greg

Ok to make your document valid HTML 4.01 Transitional , lets follow step wise step approach.

1)Remove all XHTML markup you have used in your HTML document

2)Give your images ALT values to you images

fix these 2 then we will go further, i hope this will remove around 10 errors from your document.

Littlle description of accessible images

now as you have started your first step towards accessibility lets cover basics of making accessible images.
Making images accessible

simple description

The longdesc attribute can be used. It should link to a page giving a full description of the image

When images are used for decorative purposes, no text equivalent is needed
Wrong: spacer.gif
Right: space.gif
