I am about to convert my web site from a Windows based server to RedHat Linux.

I have heard thet filenames with uppercases and spaces are a no-no.

Is this true? And How do I globally change the file names and link references from mixed case with spaces to lower case without spaces?

HELP!

I have heard thet filenames with uppercases and spaces are a no-no.

i think its best practice to never use spaces and mixed case's when naming files (web pages and web images) no matter what OS you are using

underscores are fine for splitting file names

Currently I only use HTML and javascript.

I will be using PHP, MySQL or other things (hence the move to linux)

dont change your OS just to use PHP

You can use PHP, MYSQL happily with windows.

You can develop on your windows based machine then upload to a linux based host very easily
