this is a tutorial for a asp search page

http://www.webthang.co.uk/tuts/tuts_ud4/ue4/ue4_3.asp

how can i make one for php

is it just a case of changing this

"section 7"
WHERE wine_name Like'%r_name%' OR wine_notes Like'%r_name%'

and possibly this in the runtime values
Request.QueryString("s_wine1")

would this be the php version? $_GET["s_wine1"];

i dont know any scripting so im clueless

i cant find any tutorials for making a php search page in dreamweaver.

WHERE wine_name Like'%r_name%' OR wine_notes Like'%r_name%'

this is SQL and is the same whatever scripting language you use. This is the question which is sent to the database

and possibly this in the runtime values
Request.QueryString("s_wine1")

would this be the php version? $_GET["s_wine1"];

you are on the right path. you can use $_GET or $_POST depending on your requirments and how you want to pass the data

Thanks for your reply.

I keep getting parse errors.

Im suprised no one seems to know how to make a php search in dreamweaver....

Is it just a case or switching to another language like asp?

there are more people on here that know php than asp

if you write it in PHP then post your code so i can see where the parse errors occur
