is there anything like a:relase or a:press that can be used in css. or am i just think too 'flashed based'. still new to css.
so heres an example of my menu.

chris, there's a basic different between onrelease etc in actionscript, and the CSS pseudo elements. In actionscript, they're triggers. Something will execute on onrelease or onclick, like in javascript. The CSS pseudo elements describes how the links should look depending on what *state* they're in, if the link has been visited, if it's currently active, of the mouse os hovering over the link.
