hi all,

I've recently started doing some freelance work for a marketing company and the boss needs me to sign some sort of contract, however, she's having difficulty sourcing one to adapt it.

Any ideas on where I could find a general one?

This is something you really should have prepared before approaching any company.
Eventually you will need to vocer yourself (actually it seems like the better you know your client, the more you are in need for a written agreement ;) )

I don't know of a general one, but when you find one make sure you've covered these points:
-Payment schedule
-Scope of project
-Fees for items outside of scope
-When transfer of copright takes place

Hi Mark,
We do freelance hourly work and contracted web development work aswell.
Actually the contract terms depends upon the nature of job like

1)Complete project:
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND PROCESS
described in the SITE SPECIFICATION
Text content
portfolio credentials (can't do in freelance)
qualified subcontractors
ESTIMATE AND PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS
Payment Division
the production process
event of the cancellation of this assignment
OTHER LEGAL AGREEMENTS
confidentiality of Client’s source
arbitration or litigation
payment of all invoices and copyright
the editorial content of the material included on its website
web hosting and no guarantees as to minimum "uptime"
attached SITE SPECIFICATION document
initialed and dated CHANGE ORDERS

2)Hourly work
Just set your hourly charges and legal agreements and shoot

This is how we set our contracts, and everybody follow its own style but i believe these are the minimum points required.

Huh! i am tired of typing now.
Hope this helps!
