I apologise if this has been covered before but how do I force scroll bar colour to silver?

I would like this to also affect the windows inside my iframes.

Thanks

you would change the colour of scroll bars using CSS (solid colours)

Silver however is trick using a gradient image (white > grey)

not sure if you can set bg images to scrollbars though

here is the CSS

This goes in the <head> tags

<style type="text/css">
<!--

body {scrollbar-3dlight-color:#ffd700;
scrollbar-arrow-color:#ff0;
scrollbar-base-color:#ff6347;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:#ffa500;
scrollbar-face-color:#008080;
scrollbar-highlight-color:#ff69b4;
scrollbar-shadow-color:#f0f}

-->
</style>

But why would you want to do this?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Now placing scrol colours under the body tag is incorrect I was told the other day.
You are ment to place them such.

html {
scrollbar-arrow-color:#ff0;
scrollbar-base-color:#ff6347;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:#ffa500;
scrollbar-face-color:#008080;
scrollbar-highlight-color:#ff69b4;
scrollbar-shadow-color:#f0f;
}

PLacing them in the body tag can kill the rest of your body tags.
I have experience this myself and the cure of placing them under html and not body was pointed out to me by rj.

Thanks for all your help.

I want to change them so I know exactly how my sites will be viewed by others. A lot of people tend to use the default windows blue start bar and this looks bad in internet explorer.

not too familar with code, where exactly do I place this code

html {
scrollbar-arrow-color:#ff0;
scrollbar-base-color:#ff6347;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:#ffa500;
scrollbar-face-color:#008080;
scrollbar-highlight-color:#ff69b4;
scrollbar-shadow-color:#f0f;
}

does this go in a style sheet or just in the html doc?

could you add some of the code around it so i know.

place it in a style sheet and call it into the page the usual way or place it inside <style tags on the same page as you would with other CSS
