I have chosen New>Framesets>Fixed Top using Dreamweaver MX
Within the header I have created an animated button in Flash MX of which once clicked takes me to my desired url, the problem I have is that once the button has been clicked it uses the whole page to display the url. I want the url to open in the bottom frame of the frameset.
Below is the code for the flash button
on (release) {
getURL("C:/Documents and Settings/Ian/Desktop/ST&T Publishing/pages/services.htm", "_self");
}

change _self to the name of the frame you're targetting with your link:
on (release) {
getURL("C:/Documents and Settings/Ian/Desktop/ST&T Publishing/pages/services.htm", "name_of_your_frame");
}

Ok altered my code to below
on (release) {
getURL("C:/Documents and Settings/Ian/Desktop/ST&T Publishing/pages/services.htm", "_mainFrame");
}

and it still opens in a new window

Problem solved
I got rid of the lowerscore in front of "mainFrame" then it worked.

Thanks

Glad you got it working :)
Then underscore in front of the framename is reserved for the predefined targets like _top, _parent and _self
