View Full Version : web banner-animated gifs- button question

THis should be a simple quick question.
I made a simple web banner for someone. I put in an invisible button so that whne you click on the banner you are send off to the appropriate web page. SImple right? Here i smy problem. They wanted me to save this as an animated gif. And now the link -button doesnt work. Is this normal? I.e.: can i simply not embed my link-button in an animated gif, or is there another way of creating the button that will make it work in an animated gif? I thought that perhaps with the gif, the link had to be put in when the banner is actually integrated into the web page, instead of me inserting it directly in the gif.

I appreciate the info. Thanks.

You can't embed anything in a GIF, it's a straight image format. You have to use html to create a normal link on your image:
banner.gif (file.html)

(I deleted your other question, please don't cross-post)
