Hi,
I have 2 questions for anyone who can help.

1. I made a template in Flash 8 and I am trying to get it onto Dreamweaver 8 to turn it into a website. When I save the template as a template in Flash 8, how do I open it in Dreamweaver 8? I have tried many different things and it doesn't work.

2. How do I put flash games on my site? I am trying to copy the source code for some games but when I put it on, it doesn't work.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Stephen,
Well we you can export your template file in flash and bring the output file (.SWF) in Dreamweaver thru Insert -Media- Flash.

For flash games aswell rule is the same you have to use SWF file and it works.

In dw the movie size will be a grey box but if you click on it and look at the properties panel at the bottom you will see a play button.

All that needs to be done within the flash application itself. You cannot edit a flash file with DW. That is why macromedia made flash application.
Also you cannot edit a swf file with anything as you need to work on the fla file and export your movie to swf.

So how do I make my text links then? Is there a way to do it in Flash? Sorry im really new to this.

Stephen in your flash file select the text in you want to link and then convert it into button.
(to convert it to button ,press F8 and select button behaviour and press OK)

Then Select your button and press F9 (it opens the actions Pane)
Paste this code there also change the URL to one you want to link.

on (release) {
getURL("http://www.yourdomain.com/link.htm");
}

stephen, I think that since you have just started with flash it may be worth your while to watch the tutorials that come inside Flash itself. Look under the help menu.
After watching them you will have many questions answered.
